The Temptations of Luxury
The closing ceremony of the Harper’s Bazaar exhibition took place on the 29th of October as part of the Millionaire Fair. The Harper’s Bazaar exhibition of art photography – “10 Years of Luxury and Style” – was created to honour the 10th anniversary of the magazine in Russia. The collection included the best photographs that had appeared in the magazine during the time of its existence in Russia: approximately 100 works of the best photographers in the world, carefully selected by the editors and presented to a wider public.
The exhibition was first launched in March 2006 and during the subsequent 8 months it managed to make quite a road-show, following a route from Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Sochi, St Petersburg, and back to Moscow.
From the 27th till the 29th of October, the guests at the Millionaire Fair had a unique opportunity to experience the temptations of luxury images one last time. Among the artists whose works were presented at the exhibition were Peter Lindberg, Mario Testino, and many others.
During the closing ceremony five works were bought for a total amount of 75,000 rubles. All the proceeds from the sales were given to the charity fund “Life Line” that helps seriously-ill children.
