Time for a proper breakfast!

Coffee and cigarette for breakfast is definitely a great idea if you want to multiply your daily stress. Time to start eating a proper breakfast! Nutritionists say that breakfast should provide us with no less than 25% of our daily energy requirements, as well important vitamins and microelements. A lot of restaurants and cafes in Moscow have breakfasts on their menus, and there is more choice available than one might think.

STARLITE DINER
at Mayakovskay and Oktyabrskaya
from 6 am to 11 am
Everybody’s favorite Starlight Diner changed its breakfast menu recently. Options are numerous and portion sizes are big. New omelet positions include “Guadalajara” chicken omelet (chicken chili, cilantro, sour cream and cheddar cheese) for 240 rubles, Florentine omelet (spinach, tomatoes, chives, Swiss and feta cheese) for 255 rubles, Sakhalin red crab omelet (Sakhalin crab meat, spinach, tomato, scallions, guacamole and feta cheese) for 290 rubles. All omelets are cooked from 3 eggs and served with homemade potatoes and toasts. Blinis stack with mushroom and chicken for 350 rubles is added. Breakfast combos are served with homemade potatoes and toast, from 140 rubles to 310 rubles (with grilled steak). New vegetable frittata for 240 rubles (3 eggs with milk, zucchini, red and green peppers, potatoes, feta cheese and spicy enchilada sauce). Breakfast “parfait” for 140 rubles (several layers of granola cereal, yoghurt, strawberry jam, topped with fruit salad) is still there, as well as other tasty choices.

LE GATEAU

French breakfast for 135 rubles includes omelet, cheese, ham, jam, French bread and butter; juice, tea or coffee for a drink. There is also continental breakfast for 85 rubles and it includes puff pastry and coffee or tea for drink. Breakfast menu lists pancakes for 105 rubles with filling from cottage cheese mousse and berry sauce; croissant for 60 rubles; omelet or fried eggs for 40/45 rubles (with cheese, tomatoes, beacon, mushroom or ham); oatmeal, rice or semolina porridge for 45 rubles with dry fruit on top for additional 35 rubles.

Croissant with chocolate (130 rubles), syrniki (150 rubles), 3 pancakes with jam or sour cream (100 rubles). Fried/boiled eggs (90/70roubles). Choice of sandwiches from 200 to 280 rubles: with tuna, boiled egg, mozzarella, vegetables and more. Drinks from the main menu.
