Expats Wanted to Join Record Winter 4X4 Rally The organisers of the second Murmansk-Vladivostok Expedition Trophy want expat teams (at least one foreigner in a three-man team) to compete in the 16,000 km race from 23rd February to March 8th 2006, with a first prize of 10kg of pure gold. The last chance to take part in a qualifying competition is at the Expedition Trophy camp at Zavidovo on November 5th and 6th. The organisers want between four and eight expat teams to take part, in order to stage the weekend event in English. Each team must include a woman. The competition which will test navigational, orienteering and leadership skills, will use (organiser provided) all terrain quad bikes. Helmets, protective clothing and GPS equipment will be provided and six hours of instruction and driving practice before a 24-hour non-stop competition. The entry fee for each team of three is US$ 2,850. The winning team will get free entry to the 2006 Expedition Trophy Competition and the use of a 4x4 vehicle.
