Moscow Dragons’ Ball

Valentine’s day started early at the Marriott Grand when Moscow’s leading expat rugby club hosted the ‘Night of the Dragon’ ball. Led by social secretary Annabelle Small, the committee worked flat out to make it a great success, while raising serious money for ‘Operation Smile’, supporting facial surgery for children with cleft palates. Tickets were great value, as was the food. The generosity of Parliament vodka, Glenmorangie whisky and more put guests in generous mood for the raffles and auctions. Top price was an amazing phone bid from a famous repatriated All Black Dragon for a signed Russian rugby team shirt – made more popular by Russia’s triumph in qualifying for the 2011 world cup finals, in New Zealand!
